Health education and promotion
-
Business education – marketing, financial record keeping, animal husbandry
-
Savings – most women save about 5-10% of their loan which they put in accounts at Credit Unions, Postal Services, Banks or Njangis. To encourage savings, several Winheedcam Board members established a bank called MUGFIC (Mutual Guarantee Financial Investment Corporation).
-
HIV-positive Women’s Support Groups – These women are eligible for loans, and are given instruction in marketing, cooking, sewing, entrepreneurial activities, proper nutrition, etc.
-
AIDS Orphans – We have started a program to incorporate these children into families that become groups, and thus eligible for loans from Winheedcam. Families are carefully selected for this role as the children are often malnourished and need much nurturing and support.
